World-building brain is right that I should've called it an esophagus, probably, or something to indicate that the throat is long enough to house the generation of fire. And some mechanisms for sealing off the lungs, or maybe a lung structure that likes hot air and actually needs its air heated. But that is all like Le Guin's rushwash bush.

I intend to post more like this generally! I have a good number of similarly small things written, although any given one has not much chance of being extended.
