Tonight I went to the WITCH Music Theatre's production of Into The Woods. It was really good! I could write it up properly but all I would be saying is that all of it was really good! There were standouts - Cinderella's Prince's comic timing! - but no letdowns.

What I am here to mention, though, is that they double-cast the cow and the giant. A slight middle-aged woman, in a white coat with cowbell as the cow, casting a massive shadow on the backdrop of the woods as the giant. Jack's enemy and dearest friend: such booming demands, such soulful moo.

Comic timing in either of those princes adds so much to those songs. Which version was it, i.e. how long?

As far as I know, the full version, about three hours. Which might have stopped me going if I'd realised, it went till 11.30, but thoroughly worth it!
