As an extremely pleasant side effect of having been reading Le Guin stories aloud to a group including Jo Walton for the last while, and conversations about how much I enjoy reading aloud, we are kickstarting an audiobook of Lifelode read by me.

It will be very exciting if this happens! Whether or not it does, it's been a spur for me to look into what the industry of audiobook narration is like, and what the advice for newcomers to it is. (A consistent piece of advice is 'Don't quit your day job', which makes my investigation of this as a potential day job to support the fiction writing for which I shouldn't quit my day job... perhaps not the most structurally sound choice. But hey, every step along the road looks interesting, for as long as it winds up also being practical.

If doing another long segment of something comes up in my recording practice, I could record you a Le Guin story! I'm not currently reading them on the discord, on account of having run out of favorite ones to do (and also the time zone difference meant that the best time to read them was afternoons, which worked well for a while but wasn't long-term sustainable with my mosaic of part-time work).
